Mary Veiga Among Distinguished Artists at 55th Annual Waterfowl Festival
Rooted in the quiet beauty of her rural childhood, Mary Veiga paints the luminous dialogue between land, light, and spirit.
After a 25-year career creating expansive murals, she returned to the immediacy of plein air painting, where emotion and landscape meet.
Her radiant, atmospheric works emerge from loss and renewal—offering a sense of healing, hope, and belonging within the ever-changing poetry of nature.
Artist Statement
My work is a meditation on light, memory, and the quiet poetry of the natural world.
I paint outdoors, immersed in shifting skies and living color, seeking to capture not just what I see, but what I feel—the breath of wind, the pulse of life, the healing stillness between moments.
Raised on farmland, I learned early to listen to the land. That connection has guided my creative journey, from a 25-year career as a muralist to my return to fine art through plein air painting.
Each painting is both an observation and an offering—a reflection of resilience, belonging, and the enduring grace of nature.
Through my work, I hope to share that sense of peace and connection, inviting viewers to feel the same quiet wonder that inspires me.
