Sandy Alanko Among Distinguished Artists at 55th Annual Waterfowl Festival

   Sandy Alanko paints in a representational style, using watercolors, pastels or oils to express the beautiful colors, shapes and textures of the natural world.  She loves sparkling water, the textured marshes and deep forests of this region as well as the wildlife that inhabit the Chesapeake Bay ecosystem.  She is an avid birder, kayaker, camper and has recently completed master naturalist training. 

Sandy Alanko has a master’s degree in art, studied Renaissance art in Florence, Italy, and taught art in public and private schools for over thirty years.  She is a member of St. Michaels Art League, the Working Artists Forum and the Academy Art Museum in Easton.  Her artwork has won awards in local, regional and national shows.  Sandy maintains her studio on Tilghman Island

 

Visitors can experience Sandy Alanko’s work at the 55th Annual Waterfowl Festival in Easton, Maryland, this November.
