The inspiration for this piece came from memories of the breathtaking scenery along the Chester River, especially in the spring. This scene is entirely fictional, but similar landscapes can found along the rivers all over the Tidewater region.

Artist Bio:

John Sharp lives on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Through his art, he strives to depict the unique culture of the Chesapeake Bay and surrounding Tidewater Region. With a lifetime of experiences, including a career in education, countless hours on the Bay as a commercial waterman, charter boat captain, and recreational sailor, he has accumulated nearly a half century of memories, observations, and experiences. With this background, he has had the rare opportunity to not only live, but also appreciate a way of life that may soon disappear forever. Most of his pieces are done in oil, but there are some works in acrylic as well.
