“Sophie” Heron – Nathan’s Forge, LTD

A Heron Wall Sculpture named Sophie. A full sister to Maurice, he speaks of the Pompatus of Love and is quite the joker… Sophie is more laid back and she is the second in a series of nearly full sized herons. She is 38″, wingtip to wingtip and 50″ from toe to beak. Forged mild steel with a clear lacquer finish. Sophie takes up a fair amount of wall space and makes a statement. Perfect for over the mantle!

Shipping is included within the Continental United States from the Artist’s location. Buyers outside the Continental U.S. will be charged an additional shipping fee.

Artist Bio:

I am Nick Vincent, a blacksmith in St. Augustine, Florida. I have been blacksmithing for thirty-seven years, full time for the last twenty-nine years. My early interests were eighteenth century reproductions and my first paying job was making nails for the State of Delaware for a museum restoration. Since then I"ve done hardware for houses and buildings around the world. I also enjoy forging sculptures and making items for modern houses, most notably my line of Chesapeake Bay inspired ironwork featuring cat tails, grasses, crabs and herons incorporated into furniture, lighting and sculpture. I am a member of the Artist Blacksmith Association of North America(ABANA), the Blacksmith Guild of the Potomac, a founding member and past president of the Blacksmith Guild of Central Maryland and a past president of the Mid Atlantic Smiths Association(MAS)
