Serenity – John Sharp
Serenity, Oil on canvas, 16 x 20
Scenes like this can be found on just about every creek, river, or backwater in the Chesapeake Bay. Boats are tied to stakes, driven down into the mud, and of course, the dinghy’s are used to get back and forth. Although this scene is reminiscent of Queenstown Creek, it could be anywhere.
Shipping is included within the Continental United States from the Artist’s location. Buyers outside the Continental U.S. will be charged an additional shipping fee.

John Sharp lives on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Through his art, he strives to depict the unique culture of the Chesapeake Bay and surrounding Tidewater Region. With a lifetime of experiences, including a career in education, countless hours on the Bay as a commercial waterman, charter boat captain, and recreational sailor, he has accumulated nearly a half century of memories, observations, and experiences. With this background, he has had the rare opportunity to not only live, but also appreciate a way of life that may soon disappear forever. Most of his pieces are done in oil, but there are some works in acrylic as well.
